This Blog Was Born July 10, 2008

This site is intended to serve as a tool for children's librarians, storytellers, parents, and caregivers who wish to get practical and workable ideas for programs, storytelling, storytimes, and events to encourage reading and connect books and kids. Please feel free to submit your own original ideas or resources. They will be credited to you through a by-line. Many parts of this blog are drawn from my manual, "OFF THE PAGE!: Basic Tips for Conducting a Storytime" (2005). Some of the material was developed for workshops, such as "Encyclo-Media" and other venues. Some of the material presented here was originally presented in a manual for children's services in the Metropolitan Library System of Oklahoma City-County (Okahoma). The content was based on story times and events I developed while working as a children's librarian, and outreach specialist there. Other material was developed as a Pre-K-12 licensed Library Media Specialist with Norman Public Schools. Other content was developed as a professional storyteller in Oklahoma. To the best of my ability I believe the content is original. - Marilyn A. Hudson
